THE NEW AFRICA

NEW AFRICA

Africa my world!!!
My continent
My home
You fell victim of colonisation, dehumanization and denigration
Yet you stand strong as Hercules.
You were raped, pillaged and deflowered
Yet your pride soars high like the peacock.
You were forsaken, despised and deserted
Like the grave
Yet you still flourish.
For education and Independence
You were plundered; reduced to cemetry.
Pretentious salvagers milked you dry leaving you bony like the skeleton
Yet you fleshed up.
On camouflage for rescue, salvation and redemption, they invaded.
Through the backdoor they penetrated using locals for heinous missions.
The indirect rule, direct rule and divide and rule; a perpendicular catalyst subtly for collision and confusion to set you against yourself.
Verily, a house divided against itself can not stand.
All precious stones and ornaments stolen
Your labour force carted away
Your artefacts converted to theirs
Your currencies made not to worth a damn
Your resources, made no to speak of.
But in all these, you towered
Building bridges
Mending your broken walls
Stitching your pieces to become a pillar.
In astonishment they wondered
Curious how zero become hero
Adulations and accolades we return
Not only to our leaders
But to great ancestors whose presence though dead cleared the epochal space.
Today Africa is born
Africa is great
Africa; the only paradise on Earth
